Getting
Started
Sign Up/Sign In
A. Mobile Number: Ability to sign up via mobile number where the customer will enter his/her valid mobile number in proper number format. Users will receive OTP for mobile number verification and Account Activation.

2. Account verification:
In case of sign up with a mobile number, an OTP will be sent along with the resend OTP option.
3. Account activation:
Once the customer enters the OTP, the account is activated. The customer is asked to enter the name and email address. On adding the email address, a confirmation email will be sent and the moment the customer clicks on verify, the account will be verified and the customer can receive invoice emails of the services from the application.
4. Login:
Mobile number: Ability to login with mobile number and OTP. The system will check if the mobile number exists in the system. If the account exists then the customer will log into the application. Otherwise, the customer will be asked to sign up.
My Card was Charged R50 on Registration
The Payment Gateway Taksi uses charges an R50 Registration fee as a security feature.
However, Taksi immediately refunds the R50 back to you in the form of a coupon for your next ride. To claim your R50 please follow the following steps.
Rides
- Ability to enter pickup and drop off location manually or by dropping the pin on the map. Customer can add favourite locations and can use them as pickup locations.
- Ability to view fare estimate (fare to be calculated on the basis of the parameters set for by the service owner).
- Ability to view the ETA(estimated time of arrival) for the nearest driver.
- Scheduled Rides: Ability for the customer to schedule a ride in advance for a later date and time. The driver will be assigned a ride before x minutes.
- Tip- Ability for the customer to pay a tip to the driver:
A. The tip can be paid to the driver in an ongoing ride or once the ride has been completed.
B. In case the customer chooses to add a tip in an ongoing ride, the tip amount will be charged at the end of the ride along with the tip amount and the same will be added in the invoice email.
C. In case the customer chooses to add a tip post ride completion, the tip amount will be separately charged but it will not be included in the invoice email.
How much is a ride with Taksi?
Getting an Estimate for a Ride is Easy. Once you have selected your destination and the Ride Type just scroll the Ride menu Up and click on Get Ride Estimate.
(Keep in mind this is just an estimate and fairs may differ)
Book a ride
Once the Pickup Location is entered, the user can click on the car icon at the bottom to book a ride.
1. Ability to see the driver details at the bottom along with the status of either “arriving” or “arrived at pickup”.
2. The payment option is displayed at the bottom right corner.
3. The live location of the driver is visible on the screen.
4. The destination can be set or changed by clicking on the edit icon in the destination bar at the top.
5. SOS button is also present at the top right corner. It can be pressed in case of an emergency.
7. After the ride is started, the route is displayed.
Ride Completed
Once the driver ends the ride, the “thanks for riding with us” screen is displayed.
1. Ability to see the total fare and the cash to be paid.
2. Ability to see the invoice on clicking on “view invoice“.
The invoice on clicking on “view invoice” will be displayed as in the screenshot below.
3. Ability to make payment online through pay online option.
4. Ability to add a tip to the driver under tip the driver section.
Side Menu
The following tabs are displayed in the side menu:
1. Promotions: Ability to see the set of promotions user can claim on their rides.
2. Inbox: Ability to see the live notifications regarding the booking of the ride, the status of the driver, etc.
3. History: Ability to see the detailed history of the rides and details of each ride.
4. Chat Support: Ability to chat with the service owner regarding any query or issue.
5. Email Support: Ability to send mail to the service owner.
6. Locale: Ability to change the language of the application by selecting any language from the options available in the app.
